A beautifully engineered tool, and as such a pleasure to work with. The price tag pays for these qualities. Lovely.
These are fantastic hedge trimmers, light and sharp, and effective, well set and balanced. I am a small woman (NB women do make up large proportion of gardeners in this country) so the handles are a bit too long for me, however they do give me a good reach. They are expensive, but perhaps they have to be for this quality. Please use recycleable packaging
Best shears I have ever used
I’ve just started cutting a very long beech hedge with these new shears and they are superb. I’m 5’ 1, female, over 60 and was a little apprehensive about the length of them as much longer than my previous pair. They are so lightweight, razor sharp & perfectly balanced. Effortless to use and I can reach to the top of 6’6” hedge without using stepladder! So far I’m delighted and hope they match their secateurs, which are really old, with heavy use and sharp as new.
These Shears are a revelation after purchasing a numbers of £30 pairs. I did my research first this time. They are a precision product you get what you pay for. Tooled up's price was the most competitive I could find when I ordered.
So far so good! Only received these few days ago. Very sharp, long reach and easy to use. I'm female and can see these saving a lot of time. No messing about with petrol or unwieldy wires. I have Japanese secateurs also which make gardening a pleasure. Good delivery and overall experience.

Q : Are these suitable for trimming small box hedges in small spaces?
A : Hi Louise, I suppose it’s a bit difficult to say as “small” is a subjective word – however, you could try extending a tape measure to the same length (653mm) and see how that feels? They’re lightweight and sharp so you should have no trouble doing precision cutting with them, but alternatively there are lots of shorter shears on the market if you think they may be too large. You can also get tiny electric hedge trimmers which are commonly known as shrub shears.
Q : Can i order spare blades with the shears?
A : Hi Roger, unfortunately we don't stock ARS spares so aren't able to send you additional blades
